Has your child told you about our WANTED posters yet?? Every week that we read a story out of our textbook, we have six vocabulary words that we focus on learning and incorporating into our language. We display each word on "Wanted" posters, and the kids are encouraged to be on the lookout for these words in their everyday lives. If students see the word somewhere, hear it being used by someone else, or use it themselves they are supposed to jot it down on a sticky note and stick it to the appropriate poster.
By the way, we sometimes refer to sticky notes as "stinky" notes in our room because on one of the first days of school, I mispronounced it! We all thought it was funny, so the term, well...stuck!!!
